Select the new permanent exhibition “Textil.Welt.Stadt Crimmitschau”. New permanent exhibition “Textil.World.City Crimmitschau”

On May 19, 2024, the Saxon Minister of State for Culture, Barbara Klepsch, opened the new exhibition of the cloth factory Gebr. Pfau Crimmitschau. This presents the region’s textile industry, the fashion of the GDR and the history of Crimmitschau for the first time. Our managing director, Mr. Voggenreiter, was there at the opening and told us his impressions.

The well-attended museum and family festival with more than 3,000 visitors and numerous activities and music was a complete success and exceeded all expectations. The very lavishly decorated access roads attracted a lot of attention in advance.

The exhibition entitled “Textil.Welt.Stadt Crimmitschau” is shown on 400 m² in the spinning mill building and offers interesting insights into textile history and techniques. In addition to Ms. Klepsch, Ms. Pfau from the VTI, Mr. Michaelis (district administrator), Mr. Raphael (Mayor Crimmitschau) and many other supporters and organizers were on site. The physical well-being was also well taken care of. All in all it was a successful event and even the few rain showers didn’t dampen the good mood.

We are very pleased about the further development of the museum, which is secured by existing funding commitments.

The exhibition is definitely worth a trip and will delight both young and old museum visitors.
