The trained machine and plant mechanic found his way to us through his family. His grandma and mom already worked for us, so Spandauer Velours was always on his mind, including with his neighbor. Thanks to the many points of contact, Eric finally decided to apply for a job with us and has been part of our team since May 2022.

Initially, he was trained as a weaver, then as a trainee and Andreher to get to know and understand the procedures and processes within our company.

Since 2023, he has been working as a mechanic in 3-shift operation and maintains our weaving machines. Eric fixes technical problems and gets the machines up and running again. His tasks at
include general maintenance, moving the machines when changing articles, quality control, but also special preparatory work such as carrying out the inventory.

What Eric likes about his work is that it is very varied and the textile industry itself is particularly interesting. “It’s good to know what’s behind a piece of fabric,” he says, “And it’s not as easy as you first think.”

He liked the fact that he was given an insight into everything and was actively involved from the start. For him, mutual support also makes for good cooperation, even across departments.
