We only give our best for our fabrics. They are woven, finished and packaged with a lot of dedication and sensitivity. All our love combined into one thread then results in our practical and beautiful velours.
So we ensnare our yarn by all the rules of the art, or perhaps it has already wrapped us around its finger? We don't know for sure, but we are always happy to welcome new members to our team.Let us ensnare you and send us your application. On 6 April, we took part in an applicant training with 40 pupils from class 9 of the Lehngrund Oberschule Glauchau. The applicant training was the conclusion after two days of career orientation for the classes. In the two days before, the teachers worked with the pupils on the topic of job interviews and individual applications.

On the third day, the students went through all the stations at the companies in small groups and were able to try out a matching and touch game with us. René, our finishing trainer, and Jennifer, apprentice machine and plant operator in textile technology, were the contact persons for the students.

We thank you for your support!

Together with our advertising agency MINDWORK and our employees, we recently had a photo shoot at our office. In addition to new image photos and pictures for the job advertisements, we also took some funny snapshots that we don't want to keep from you - in keeping with the motto #TeamSpandauer.

Last Tuesday we took part in the "Mit Mach Job Fair" at the Sachsenring secondary school in Hohenstein-Ernstthal. Around 240 pupils took part in the fair and visited the individual company stands equipped with a questionnaire.

Representing Spandauer Velours, Maik, our weaving instructor, and Jennifer, trainee machine and plant operator for textile technology, were on site and provided information about our apprenticeships - thank you very much for your commitment!

... and for us the time of job and training fairs begins, where we once again face the questions of pupils and perhaps also future trainees.

Not only did we go to a career orientation fair last Friday, but also on Saturday. Maik, our trainer in the weaving mill, and Jasmin, our long-time weaving mill employee, actively represented us at the career orientation fair "BERUF UND BILDUNG" at the Sachsenring.

Thank you very much for your time and commitment!

As a local company, we were once again at the career marathon of the Heinrich-von-Kleist-Oberschule Lichtenstein last Friday. The school's internal career orientation took place for all pupils from the 7th grade onwards. Our personnel officer Kristyna Lamblova was on site with apprentice Georg and the two of them advised the pupils on our training offers. With two interactive games - the feel boxes and assigning individual pieces of fabric to their intended use - as well as our detailed information materials, we were able to give the pupils a little more insight into the world of textiles.

Our annual consumption of natural gas is about 3,000,000 kWh, which would correspond to the consumption of about 150 single-family houses.
To make us less dependent on natural gas as an energy source, we are currently investing in a liquid gas system. This will enable us to reduce our natural gas consumption by about 50 % in the future.

Polypropylene - the king of tear and abrasion resistance - in the form of a cleaning plush for all areas of application where a lot of force has to be applied. When force is not enough for cleaning, our textile S 408 can also shine with a very high resistance to acids and alkalis. This velour will not give up so quickly and is without question the most stubborn of the plushes.

Between all the different yarns, it's easy to lose track. We'll help you keep track so that you still have the red thread in your hand at the end.
But first... follow the red thread into #TeamSpandauer and continue the 35-year success story of Spandauer Velours with us!

A new journey began for us. We moved from the Spandau district of Berlin to Lichtenstein. In the same year, Bill Clinton was elected the 42nd President of the USA on 03 November, Denmark became European football champion and the digital mobile phone was invented in Sweden - it's hard to imagine life today without it. Just like our velours, which are used in many areas of life.

Our paint rollers 1410 and 1411 are virtually siblings and await their paint application with the same characteristics.
The only difference is the look and feel. Textile 1411 has a higher pile and is therefore more suitable for other wall structures than 1410.

But now the time has come? You're bored with your current job, you're no longer on the same wavelength as your colleagues and you're at the end of your tether?

Don't hesitate, come to #TeamSpandauer, we'll help you weave a new thread of patience - with a warm team, varied tasks and, by the way, we're professionals at weaving threads, we don't let anything break.

We look forward to meeting you and receiving your application. You can find more information about career opportunities at Spandauer Velours on our careers page.

The result of searching for the secret of Christmas is not the glow you feel in finding something special and extraordinary. But what you will find is: These are the things you do all year through.

We thank all our employees and customers for the pleasant cooperation and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Your #TeamSpandauer

The production of high-quality velour fabrics with 110 employees and 46 weaving machines naturally requires corresponding space. For all this, we have a production area of approximately 17,000 square metres, which is equivalent to 2.38 football pitches.

namely our Spandauer Velours logo! The noble umbrellas with black handle and grip are given to our employees as a small gift to get them through the rainy days as they are doing now.

And if the sky is grey instead of blue, the blue umbrella spreads good humour and brings our #TeamSpandauer safely into the dry.

No problem, with us you have reached your goal and can let yourself fall. The good thing is that you'll fall especially softly, onto lots of hard-wearing plush and high-quality velour fabrics.

Our #TeamSpandauer also welcomes you with open arms and looks forward to active support in our departments.

We look forward to meeting you and receiving your application. You can find more information about career opportunities at Spandauer Velours on our careers page.

The special composition of PES microfibre and abrasive cluster bristle makes our cleaning plush 1305 a special mop for the highest demands and cleaning performance.

30 June 1987 is not only our founding date, because many other well-known personalities have their special day together with us.

Mike Tyson turned 21 on this day and Ralf Schuhmacher turned 12 on this day. And the two athletes Sebastian Vettel and Fabian Hambüchen were born in the same year that Spandauer Velours was founded.

Not every day is the same for us and each of our employees has a varied range of tasks. In the end, every step, no matter how small, leads straight to our common goal: to produce high-quality plush and velour fabrics and to ensure the satisfaction of our customers.

You know how the thread runs, namely straight to Lichtenstein?

We are looking forward to you and your application. You can find more information about career opportunities at Spandauer Velours on our careers page.

Many yarns knotted together eventually become a rope. All our employees together are Spandauer Velours and each one of them with their job is important. Our processes work so well because they are so interwoven, just like a thick rope.

Finally back again!

On Saturday, 08 October 2022, after a break of two years, we were fortunately able to participate again in the training and job fair in the Sachsenlandhalle Glauchau.
We were very pleased to be able to welcome the visitors face-to-face again and got into conversation with many interested people and were able to make new contacts.
Our stand was run by our apprentice industrial mechanic Lenny Reichel and our trainer Maik Riedel in the weaving department. The two of them had our new training flyers and gym bags with them, which were very well received by the visitors.
We thank you for your time and for answering the visitors' questions.

Missed the training and job fair? No problem, you can find our current vacancies on our website and we are already accepting applications for apprenticeships in 2023/24. We look forward to hearing from you!

Our cleaning plush is a true master of cleaning. The microfibre article with high moisture absorption and a "bristle" made of PorkyPine material even loosens hair from joints. Our "porcupine" textile is the specialist when it comes to bathroom cleaning, whether at home, in a hotel or swimming pool. We have the solution for your problem!

As a large team, we work on the first-class quality of our products every day. If our customers are satisfied with the goods, so are we and that is our joint success.
Mutual support, laughing and learning together - that's what binds us together and makes us strong.

Are you with us?

We are always happy to be able to support young talents and bring them forward, not only in our own ranks.

In April 2021, we received a request from Anna-Maria Gerisch for fabric samples. She had started her master craftsman training in interior design in March 2021 and needed velour for her masterpiece. The practical examination for interior decorators consists of making a fully furnished bunk with wallpaper, wall bracing, carpeting, plastic covering, window decoration, sun or privacy protection system and an upholstery piece.

In preparation for the master's examination, there was a practice course for which Anna-Maria had already made a practice bunk in the form of a group work. Different styles were given in which hotel rooms were to be furnished. Anna-Maria's group "Art Nouveau in Barcelona" covered an armchair with a blue velvet from our range. In addition, the group "Baroque in Dresden" was also able to refine an armchair with the help of a red velvet from our range.

This summer, after 1 ½ years, Anna-Maria successfully obtained her title as master interior decorator at the HWK Dresden.
We are pleased about the joint cooperation, congratulate her on successfully passing her master's title and wish the stage decorator at the Altenburg-Gera Theatre all the very best for her future!
We continue to be open to supporting and promoting future master craftswomen and master craftsmen!

Last Saturday and Sunday, the volunteer fire brigade in Lichtenstein held its annual fire brigade festival. The comrades were able to enjoy the festival in sunny weather with delicious food and drinks as well as plenty of entertainment.

As financial supporters of the fire brigade, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our everyday heroes and helping hands for their everlasting and tireless efforts! You have definitely earned this bash.

The beautiful pictures are from the Lichtenstein Volunteer Fire Brigade and were kindly made available to us.

Since 28 August, we have welcomed six new trainees to our team. We are very happy about the strong filling of our apprenticeship positions and about the new curious faces.

With Jennifer, Georg and Elias, three apprentices are starting their two-year training as machine and plant operators in the field of textile technology.

Kevin E. is a newcomer to our maintenance department, but he already has a bit of experience under his belt. He is continuing his training with us as an electronics technician for industrial engineering and is entering the second year of his apprenticeship.

Kevin W. is enthusiastic about the apprenticeship as a warehouse specialist and will get to know all areas relevant to logistics, such as finished goods warehouse, yarn warehouse, finished goods show and dispatch, during his two-year apprenticeship.

With Leon, we also receive support in the commercial area. He is completing a three-year apprenticeship with us to become an industrial clerk.
We wish all trainees a good start and a successful training in our company. At the same time, we would like to thank all the trainers and skilled workers in the company for supporting us so actively in the promotion of young talent.
