“My path at Spandauer Velours began with an apprenticeship as a textile technology machine and plant operator. Right from the start I was enthusiastic about my work in the company, so I extended my training by one year and qualified as a production mechanic. I have now been working in this profession for more than a year. Wherever there is a technical problem in the weaving mill, my colleagues and I are there to help. We maintain, repair and check the machines. This work is very varied. From day one, I was given confidence in my work. My experienced professional colleagues always have an open ear for me and so I am still learning every day and can expand my acquired knowledge”.

Our success has many faces. Become a part of it!

Every day thousands of metres of thread run through our warping, weaving and finishing machines as well as through the fabric inspection. The yarns are processed, for example, into paint rollers, cleaning plush and other technical textiles.

On Saturday, 16.11.19, the job and apprenticeship exchange will take place in the Sachsenlandhalle Glauchau. Under the motto “Job exchange – THE one that takes me further”, we will also be present from 9.00 – 13.00 in the large hall at stand 8. Come and visit us and find out about our apprenticeships.

We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Together with our two trainees, we are delighted that they have passed their practical intermediate examination, which they both mastered last Friday with good to very good results. Both are completing their training as machine and plant operators and have now come a step closer to their goal of a professional future. Our thanks go to the trainers, who always put a lot of effort, heart and soul into the further development of their protégés. Congratulations, boys.

Discover your own strengths, orientate yourself professionally and plan your future – under this motto we will take part in the project “Komm auf Tour – Meine Stärken, Meine Zukunft” in the district of Zwickau on Monday, 11 November 2019. This takes place in the Muldentalhalle in Wilkau-Haßlau and offers pupils of the 7th and 8th grade playful offers for career orientation on eight implementation days.

At the centre of “Come on tour” is a large adventure course with different play stations, which motivates the young people to deal with their career and life planning in an entertaining and informal way.

As a regional cooperation partner, we also play an active role in the project in order to get in touch with the local schoolchildren at an early stage and get them excited about the wide range of activities at Spandauer Velours.
